 Happy Birthday, SK Ken Garcia!

Today, Blessed Sacrament Council 5322 proudly wishes SK Ken Garcia a very Happy Birthday!

Ken is a wonderful example of a Brother Knight who puts his faith into action through service and leadership. As Warden of our Council, he is also an active leader and volunteer for many of our events, serving in roles ranging from Co-Chair of the Parish Breakfast to supporting the St. John Vianney Youth Ministry Car Wash Fundraiser and many other parish and Council activities.

He serves on the SJV Catholic School Advisory Committee (CSAC) as Department Chair for Mission & Catholic Identity, helping strengthen our school's Catholic faith and mission. He also serves on the Parish Pastoral Council, providing guidance and support to our pastor and parish community.

Ken's willingness to step forward, lead, and serve wherever he is needed reflects what it truly means to be a Knight of Columbus and a Catholic gentleman.

On your birthday, we thank you, Ken, for your faith, leadership, friendship, and dedication to our Council, parish, school, youth, and community.

Happy Birthday, Brother Ken! May God bless you and your family today and always, and may He continue to guide you in your service to others.

One Man's Vision. Millions of Lives Changed

Picture

This is a very special week for us as Knights of Columbus.

During this week, we honor the life and legacy of our founder, Blessed Michael McGivney:
  • August 12 – His Birthday
  • August 13 – His Liturgical Memorial (Feast Day)
  • August 14 – The Anniversary of His Death

As we begin a new Columbian Year, let us reflect on the remarkable vision of one humble parish priest. Blessed Michael McGivney saw Catholic families struggling with poverty, widows left without support, and men drifting away from their faith. Rather than accepting these challenges, he answered God's call to action.

With unwavering faith, courage, and a servant's heart, one man founded the Knights of Columbus on March 29, 1882. What began with a handful of Catholic men in the basement of St. Mary's Church in New Haven, Connecticut, has grown into a worldwide brotherhood of more than 2 million Knights dedicated to serving Christ, His Church, and those in need.

Father McGivney proved that one person, guided by God, can change the world. He didn't seek recognition or greatness—he simply answered God's call and invited other Catholic men to do the same. More than 140 years later, his vision continues to transform lives through the faithful service of Brother Knights across the globe.

Every time we volunteer at our parish, support a family in need, pray the Rosary together, assist at a parish event, or stand beside a Brother Knight, we continue the mission Blessed Michael McGivney began. His legacy lives on through each act of charity, every moment of fraternity, every display of unity, and every witness of patriotism.

May this special week renew our commitment to live our faith boldly, serve generously, and lead with humility, just as our founder did. Together, let us continue building the legacy he entrusted to us, one act of charity at a time.

Blessed Michael McGivney, pray for us.

Vivat Jesus!
