 Message dated January, 18th from Father Paul O’Connor O.S.A., Flavio Alfrado, Ecuador. Greetings to all, With gratefulness to the Wheelchair Foundation, the Knights of Columbus, to FENEDIF and your teams that made it possible for the shipment of a container with 280 wheel to Flavio. The container arrived at eleven o'clock last night and we began unload them at seven o'clock in the morning. It was raining, but there in the coast we don't worry about the rain. Everything was received in order, 280 chairs and 10 small boxes of spare parts. Now they are being staged in the center of catechesis. They will be distributed in the north of Manabì and Don Xavier of Fenedif. They are like 20 parishes that have requested some wheelchairs and we are responding the best that we are able to. Also the group of Blanket "Face of Jesus" they will receive a part, but being that there are 20 the parishes they won't be so much remaining. In fact the zone covers almost ten thousand kilometers and the logistics of the distribution in this season of rain presents a problems. |
 Saludos a todos, Con agradecimientos al Wheelchair Foundation, Los Caballeros de Colon, a FENEDIF y sus equipos que han hecho posible la llegada del contenedor con 280 sillas a Flavio. El contenedor llego a las once de la noche anoche y empezamos el descargo a las siete de la mañana. Llovía, pero aquí en la costa no nos preocupa la lluvia. Todo llegó completamente en orden, 280 sillas y 10 cajas pequeñas de repuestos. Ahora están embodegadas en el centro de catequesis. Se repartirán en todo el norte de Manabì y a Don Xavier de Fenedif. Son como 20 parroquias que han pedido unas sillas y estamos respondiendo lo mejor que podemos. También el grupo de Manta "Rostro de Jesús" recibirán una parte, pero siendo 20 las parroquias no habrán tantas. De hecho la zona en donde se repatrían cubre casi diez mil kilómetros y la logística del repartirlas en esta temporada de lluvia presenta sus problemas. Solo quise informarles que las sillas llegaron todo correcto y que estamos muy agradecidos a todos que participan en el proyecto. De ustedes, P. Paul O'Connor OSA |
| A third distribution of two additional containers with 540 wheelchairs is being scheduled for the weekend of April 15th in cities of Mexico City and Puebla, Mexico. Further details will soon be forwarded to the members, please save that weekend and come and join us. Additionally work is underway for the distribution of a container of wheelchairs from the California State Jurisdiction to Poland. Our goal is for the distribution of another two additional containers for this summer. Only $75 will make a reality to a person, a family and a community.
