Together as One — Council 5322 Family Picnic

What a wonderful day of family, fellowship, food, fun, and brotherhood!

A very special thank you to GK Roy Carlisle for organizing and planning our Council picnic! Roy kept the excitement going as our boat captain, and Gena as First Mate, pulling everyone around the lake on the tube and creating plenty of laughter and great memories.

We also extend our appreciation to Rich Alden, our Picnic and Event Coordinator, for coordinating the food and helping make sure everyone had something delicious to share. We certainly did not go hungry—with an abundance of great food, desserts, and fellowship!

Most importantly, thank you to all our Brother Knights and their families who joined us and made the day so special.

Days like this remind us that the Knights of Columbus is about more than the work we do. We are a brotherhood united by faith, strengthened by friendship, and joined together through our love of family and service to others.

May we continue building friendships, strengthening our families, and creating memories together as Blessed Sacrament Council 5322.

Happy Birthday, Mark Anthony Sohl!

On August 19, we celebrate Brother Mark Anthony Sohl, a man whose strong Catholic faith is reflected in his dedication and service to our parish community.

Mark generously shares his time and talents by serving as a Confirmation Instructor, helping guide and inspire our youth as they grow in their faith. He also serves through the Choir, lifting our parish in worship through music, and as a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, living the principles of Charity, Unity, and Fraternity.

Mark’s commitment to his faith provides an example of leadership, discipleship, and service, especially to the young people of our parish.

May God continue to bless Mark and his family with faith, good health, happiness, and many more years of joyful service.

What began in 1882 as the vision of one Catholic priest, Blessed Michael McGivney, has grown for more than 140 years into a worldwide brotherhood dedicated to putting faith into action.

Father McGivney believed that Catholic men, united by faith and working together, could strengthen their families, support their Church, care for those in need, and make a lasting difference in their communities. From that simple vision grew the Knights of Columbus and the principles we continue to live today: Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism.

60+ Years of Service in Our Community

Here at Blessed Sacrament Council 5322, that same vision has been carried forward for more than 60 years.

Generation after generation of Brother Knights has given their time, talent, resources, and faith in service to our parish, our families, our youth, and our community. Through charitable giving, parish support, scholarships, community programs, fundraising, volunteer service, and simple acts of kindness, our Council has worked to continue the mission Blessed Michael McGivney began more than a century ago.

We are grateful for the Brother Knights who came before us and built the foundation upon which our Council stands today. We are equally grateful for the Knights and families who continue that work today—and for those who will carry it forward for generations to come.

Celebrating Our Patron Saint - St. John Vianney August 9

On August 9, our parish community came together for a special celebration honoring St. John Vianney, our beloved patron saint and the saint for whom our parish is named.

The celebration was a beautiful reflection of the faith and diversity of our St. John Vianney community. We gathered for a special tri-lingual Mass at 4:30 PM, uniting our parish family in prayer and thanksgiving as we honored the life and example of the Curé of Ars.

Following Mass, the celebration continued in the parish gym, where families, friends, parishioners, and ministries came together in fellowship to share food, conversation, and the joy of our Catholic community.

St. John Vianney devoted his life to Christ and faithfully served God's people with humility, prayer, sacrifice, and an extraordinary love for the priesthood. May his example continue to inspire our parish, strengthen our families, and remind us of the importance of serving one another with faith and love.

We are grateful to everyone who helped make this wonderful celebration possible and to all who joined us in honoring our patron saint.

Welcome Brother Daniel Rossi

We are pleased to officially welcome Brother Daniel Rossi to Blessed Sacrament Council 5322 following his transfer to our council, effective August 1, 2026.

Daniel is a Finance Specialist with an MBA and is currently working toward his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation. He is also honored to serve on the Finance Council at St. John Vianney Parish, using his professional experience to support our parish community.

Outside of his professional and parish service, Daniel is a dedicated youth coach who finds great joy in helping young athletes develop their skills and confidence and reach their full potential.

Most importantly, Daniel is the proud father of three children, including two who currently attend St. John Vianney School in the 4th and 6th grades.

We are blessed to have Daniel as a Brother Knight and look forward to serving alongside him as we live out the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism.

Knights Monthly Birthdays & Anniversaries

2026–2027 Knights of Columbus Installation of Officers

The Knights of Columbus of Blessed Sacrament Council 5322 joyfully celebrated the Installation of Officers for the 2026–2027 Fraternal Year, marking the beginning of another year of faithful leadership and service to our Church, parish, and community.

The Installation Ceremony served as a reminder that leadership within the Knights of Columbus is not simply a position, but a sacred commitment to live our faith through Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism while supporting our priests, strengthening our families, and serving those in need.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our special guests for joining us and making this occasion even more meaningful:

Their presence, prayers, and words of encouragement were a blessing to our council as our newly installed officers accepted their responsibilities for the coming year.

Honoring Our Patron Saint: St. John Vianney

On August 2, the Knights of Columbus proudly showed our support and devotion to St. John Vianney, the patron saint for whom our parish is named.

Brother Knights came together in faith and solidarity by attending Mass and participating in the Novena to St. John Vianney. As Catholic men, we strive to follow his example of humility, prayer, and unwavering dedication to Christ and His Church.

May St. John Vianney continue to intercede for our priests, our parish, our families, and all who seek to grow closer to Jesus.

Council Honors

Each month, we proudly recognize a Knight and a Family who exemplify the spirit of charity, unity, and fraternity. Through their dedication and service, they strengthen our brotherhood and make a meaningful impact in our parish and community. We honor their commitment and thank them for living out our mission.

Knight of the Month – August 2026

Blessed Sacrament Council 5322 is proud to recognize SK Trung Nguyen as our Knight of the Month for August.

Although Trung has been a Brother Knight for less than a year, he has quickly become an active and dedicated member of our council. His willingness to serve wherever needed reflects the true spirit of the Knights of Columbus.

Trung has participated in numerous council, parish, and community activities. He serves on the St. John Vianney Catholic School Safety Advisory Committee (CSAC), helping support facilities and safety initiatives for our parish and school. He has also volunteered at youth fundraisers, including the Steubenville Youth Car Wash, and regularly lends a helping hand at council and parish events.

Above all, Trung is a humble servant of God who quietly serves wherever he is needed. While balancing the demands of work, family, parish ministry, and his responsibilities as a Brother Knight, he continues to answer God's call with generosity, humility, and dedication.

Thank you, Trung, for your faithful service and for living the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism each day.

Family of the Month – August 2026

Congratulations to Brother Daniel Rossi and his family on being selected as Blessed Sacrament Council 5322's Family of the Month!

Although Daniel is a recent transfer to our council, he has already demonstrated what it means to live the principles of the Knights of Columbus through faith and service.

Before officially becoming a member of our council, Daniel and his father, SK David Rossi, generously volunteered their time and talents to support St. John Vianney Parish and School. Together, they spent three to five days helping install 18 new classroom whiteboards, each weighing nearly 100 pounds.

In addition to his volunteer service, Daniel is an active member of the Finance Council at St. John Vianney Parish, continuing his commitment to strengthening our parish community.

Daniel and his family remind us that true leadership begins with a willing heart and a spirit of service. We are grateful to have them as part of our council and look forward to serving alongside them for many years to come.

Supporting Our Youth's Journey of Faith

As our St. John Vianney Youth Group begins their journey to the Steubenville Youth Conference, the Knights of Columbus were honored to help prepare grab-and-go lunch bags for the students and chaperones before they departed.

This small act of service reflects our commitment to supporting the youth of our parish as they grow in their faith and deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ. We pray that this retreat will be a life-changing experience, filled with grace, friendship, and a renewed love for Christ and His Church.

A heartfelt thank you to Ken Garcia, Mark Williamson, Robert Saria, Charles Popp, and Trung Nguyen for generously volunteering their time to prepare the lunches. Your willingness to serve is a wonderful example of the Knights of Columbus principles of Charity, Unity, and Fraternity in action.

Please keep our youth, chaperones, and retreat leaders in your prayers as they travel safely and experience the many blessings of the Steubenville Conference.

May God bless our youth and bring them home with hearts renewed in faith.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Volunteers!

St. John Vianney School recently received a generous donation of 18 new classroom whiteboards. Over the past several days, Principal Hugo, Paolo Reali, and dedicated volunteer Knights of Columbus — Daniel Rossi, Enio Pereda, and Trung Nguyen—have been hard at work preparing each classroom, installing the mounting brackets, and securely mounting the new whiteboards throughout the school.

Their willingness to sacrifice time away from their families and work to serve our parish and school is a wonderful example of Christian service in action. A special thank you to Brother Knight Daniel Rossi and his father, who generously dedicated three full days to this project. His exceptional commitment and willingness to serve exemplify the spirit of the Knights of Columbus.

We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone involved for their generosity, dedication, and commitment to supporting Catholic education. Your hard work will benefit our teachers and students for many years to come.
