California State Council Call to support
our Brothers and their families in Maui


 
Together we can do great things... 
Dear Brothers and Sisters of California,
 
As you know there has been a terrible fire on the island of Maui that has destroyed a complete town with the death toll at 93 and climbing. Many are injured, over 2,200 structures have burned, all local utilities are not functioning, and water, food, and shelter are in short supply.
 
At this time, we have no knowledge as of the direct impact that it has had on our Knights of Columbus Families there but it is bound to be severe. Our State knows well the effects of this kind of tragedy. I ask my Brother Knights of California to step forward to aid our Brothers and Sisters of Maui in their time of need.
 
Attached you will find two attachments. The first one is from the State Deputy of Hawaii laying out the ways to donate funds to the ongoing relief effort. The second is from the Bishop of Honolulu identifying the Hawaii Catholic Community Foundation (HCCF) as the diocese organization that is set up to receive online donations.
 
On this Feast Day of our Order’s founder, Blessed Father Michael McGivney, please be generous in your donation to help the Catholic Community of Maui.

​We All Need To Do SAFE Training
The Sacramento Diocese is requiring all volunteers
(this includes all Knights of Columbus) to complete
"Safe Environment" training through the Sacramento Diocese
and to be "Life Scanned".

The Knights of Columbus are leaders of our parish and we need to set an example for everyone.  
Step up and be an example.

The Parish Office has set up Finger Scans August 26th. 
They have arranged for Spanish and English
"Safe Environment Training Classes" for those
who don't want to use the Diocese Website.
